Here’s what you can do RIGHT NOW to be on the right side of history:

  1. Post about it immediately. Share this page with the caption “EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THIS” in all caps. If your followers don’t engage, they were never really your friends.
  2. Update your profile picture. Add a frame, a flag, a filter—whatever the current overlay is. This is literally the bare minimum and if you haven’t done it yet, we see you.
  3. Educate yourself (but don’t ask us to explain it). Google it. Read the room. Do the work. It’s not our job to educate you, but it IS your job to already know everything we know.
  4. Sign a petition on Change.org. Has a Change.org petition ever changed anything? That’s not the point. The point is you signed it. Screenshot it. Post that too.
  5. Check on your friends. But only the ones in affected communities. If they say they’re fine, they’re not fine. Tell them they’re not fine. Hold space.
  6. Boycott something. Doesn’t matter what. Pick a corporation. Any corporation. They’re all complicit. If you accidentally boycott one you like, that’s called sacrifice.
  7. Attend a rally (or at least post that you would). Being there in spirit counts. Being there in Instagram stories counts double.
  8. Remind everyone this is not normal. Even though it’s been happening continuously for years and shows no signs of stopping, it is absolutely not normal and you should say so at every meal.

Remember: if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. There is no middle ground. There is no nuance. Be on the Right Side of History™
